Joseph G. Gleeson
Joseph G. Gleeson took a B. A. in chemistry at the University of California,
San Diego in 1986, earning his M. D. from the University of Chicago Pritzer School
of Medicine in 1991. He performed a residency in pediatrics from 1991 to 1993,
and a clinical fellowship in neurology from 1993 to 1995 at the Childen's Hospital,
Boston. He then served a research fellowship at Beth Deaconess Israel and Harvard
Medical School between 1995 and 1999. He served as assistant junior resident in
pediatrics, resident in pediatric neurology, and chief resident in neurology at
Children's Hospital Boston in the period from 1992 to 1996, before becoming an
instructor in child neurology in the same institution that same year. In 1999,
he became assistant professor in the Department of Neurosciences at the University
of California, San Diego, and was appointed associate professor at the same institution
in 2005.
