Suzanne Eaton
Suzanne Eaton received her PhD. in microbiology from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1988. She then worked as a postdoctoral fellow under Thomas Kornberg at the University of California, San Francisco working on the organization of developmental compartments in Drosophila. In 1993, she moved to EMBL, Heidelberg first working as a postdoctoral fellow under Kai Simons and then as a Staff Scientist. She was appointed to her current position as Group Leader at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics in 2000.
Her current research focuses on investigating the basic mechanisms of patterning and morphogenesis in epithelia, in particular using Drosophila wing development as a model system.
