Chris Lowe

Chris Lowe is an Assistant Professor at Hopkins Marine Station, in the Department of Biology, Stanford University. He earned a B.Sc. in Biology from the University of Sussex and went on to do his Ph.D. with Greg Wray at SUNY Stony Brook on the evolution of the echinoderm radial body plan. As a Miller Fellow at UC Berkeley he worked with John Gerhart and Marc Kirschner to develop the hemichordate Saccoglossus kowalevskii as a new species for developmental studies. His group is focussed on addressing hypotheses of body plan evolution and the origins of chordates.
