発生エピジェネティクスチームは、理研CDBにて2013年10月1日発足の研究室です。染色体高次構造の発生制御を理解することが細胞分化の本質を理解することにつながるとの認識のもと、マウス初期胚発生時期に起きる大規模な染色体高次構造変化とヘテロクロマチン形成の分子機構と意義を明らかにすることを目指しています。実験材料には主にマウス幹細胞を用い、方法論的には分子生物学、細胞生物学、およびゲノムワイド解析を組み合わせています。
Laboratory for Developmental Epigenetics is located at the RIKEN Center for Developmental Biology (RIKEN CDB) in Kobe, Japan. Our research goal is to understand the essence of cellular differentiation through studying the developmental regulation of nuclear genome organization, with a focus on global facultative heterochromatin formation that takes place at an early stage of mammalian development. We use mouse embryonic stem cells as a model system, in combination with molecular/cell biology techniques and genome-wide approaches.
