Title: |
Regulating Cell Division during the Development and Regeneration of the Inner Ear |
Summary : | Coordinating cell proliferation with growth and differentiation remains a poorly understood aspect of embryonic development, as well as postnatal regeneration. In this presentation I will discuss the interplay of transcriptional and post-transcriptional mechanisms involved in regulating p27Kip1-dependent cell cycle exit during organ of Corti development. In addition, I will present data relevant to the question of hair cell regeneration and the mechanisms regulating the postmitotic state of postnatal hair cells and supporting cells. |
