| CDB Publication Honored with JaGRA Prize |

October 2, 2007 – The CDB original Japanese-language publication, Hassei to Saisei: Mietekita saiboutachi no furumai (“Development and Regeneration: Learning more about the hidden lives of cells”) was recognized with the METI Minister’s Award in the printed publications category at the Japan Graphic Services Industry Association (JaGra) prize ceremony held in Kagoshima. The was awarded to TRAIS K.K., the company that designed the book, at a ceremony attended by more hundreds of industry delegates and representatives of government ministries.
Hassei to Saisei is a lavishly illustrated introduction to the primary fields of interest at the RIKEN CDB, with explanations of fundamental scientific concepts, cutting-edge technologies, philosophical issues and future prospects in these areas of study. The book was created to mark the 5th anniversary of research at the CDB, and to serve as a report and prospectus at the end of the 5-year Millennium Project under which the Center was launched.
